Dear Parents, pupils, and staff,
The children have thoroughly enjoyed finding conkers this week, sharing in the excitement of our annual 200m and 400m race events, and making the most of the glorious weather, perhaps some of the last reminders of summer. It has been wonderful to see so many smiling faces around school.
Year 2 Visit Whittlesey War Memorial
As part of their History learning about Whittlesey in the past, Year 2 enjoyed a visit to the town's War Memorial. The children listened respectfully as they learned about local soldiers who lost their lives during different conflicts. Each child was given the name of a soldier and carefully searched the memorial to find them.
The visit helped the children understand that important historical events did not just happen in distant places but had a lasting impact on families and communities right here in Whittlesey.
Keeping Our Smiles Healthy!
This week, the children enjoyed an exciting visit all about dental health. They learned why our teeth are so important and discovered lots of ways to keep them clean and healthy, from brushing twice a day to making healthy food choices.
The children came away with plenty of top tips to share at home. We hope to see lots of bright, healthy and confident smiles around school in the weeks ahead!
